Photo – Big Ben Leaning Badly, Is it Ready to Fall Over?

Saturday, October 15, 2011

What time is it?

Big Ben, Westminster’s iconic landmark clock and London tourist attraction is in danger of falling over!

Authorities and engineers have noted that Big Ben is leaning more and more each year and is now almost two feet off level center – and the tilt is getting worse each year.

Now, for the first time, the tilt and slight lean can be seen by the naked eye.

The Lean in Big Ben is noticeable with the naked eye

Engineers think that decades of underground construction have allowed the big clock to sink into the soft ground that runs along the river Thames.

While the 315 foot Big Ben is indeed starting to tilt, officials say it would take over 2,000 years before it got as bad as the leaning tower of Pisa – which is over 12 feet off center.

A university professor commented,

‘I’ve heard tourists saying “I don’t think it is quite vertical” and they are right. If it started greater acceleration we would have to look at doing something, but I don’t think we need to do anything for a few years yet.’

However, many Londoners have been quietly chuckling over one report that said,

"If Big Ben were to fall it would crash into the MPs' offices over the road in Portcullis House."

It seems there are lots of people who don’t think would be such a bad thing.

Lace and Stars From Dolce & Gabbana

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are not followers of current trends - they are the style for themselves. But whatever they bring in the new season it will certainly find supporters. Faithful fans of D&G style will wear everything this duo design.

You can find everything in their new models: short and long, black and colored dresses, and costumes. Truly, a great selection of combinations. First let see the models with stars and dots.

Lace is still in, something special is definitely the suit who is interesting not only because of the lace, but the length of the leg.

After total blackness, we give you yellow-pink-orange contrast. There are a lot of short dresses, but in autumn collection, you can find beautiful max dresses also.

During the winter, it is obvious everything is permitted. It seems that Dolce & Gabbana think of those who are intolerant of cold, so long sweaters, coats and pants are required.

You can't go wrong with skirts. Miniskirts are definitely "in". Underneath them, you can wear tights and stockings.

Funny Video – Model Falls Three Times on Runway During Charity Show

Thursday, May 19, 2011

If you are a runway model you know how elegant and graceful you need to be for you designer.

But sometimes the contraptions and cloths make it almost impossible to do your job.

At a charity event to raise money for victims of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami, at least one model found out that looking good can be difficult.

The model fell three different times during her stroll down the runway in Cannes France, but before it was over two more models also fell or stumbled.

Note to self: If you ever design cloths, don’t make them so complicated that people can’t walk 50 feet while wearing them.

But the charity event was a success with several million dollars raised for the Japan relief effort, and special guest appearances by Naomi Campbell and Hollywood icon Jane Fonda.

Kirstie Alley Takes a Fall on Dancing With The Stars - Video

Tuesday, April 5, 2011

Kirstie Alley and her dance mate Maksim Chmerkovskiy took a bit of a spill last night while dancing the Rumba during DWTS.

The two were dancing the Rumba to a laid back version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” when you can clearly see that Maksim’s hip gave out and he went down.

Both dancers recovered nicely, and the judges did not seem overly concerned that the fall would affect their ability to stay in the competition.

Judge Len Goodman said,

“Dancing is a bit like life - It’s about overcoming adversities. You overcame it. You got up… and you came back stronger.”

So who's going home on Tuesday's Dancing with the Stars elimination show?

Sugar Ray Leonard and Petra Nemcova will probably hit the bottom two spots with the champ headed to the locker room.
