McCreery, who walked away with the Idol top prize this year, is currently on the road with his fellow contestants with the “American Idol Live Tour 2011” and from what we hear is bringing down the house.

His first single is now #1 on iTunes and on the Billboards 100 Hot Ten list.

“I Love You This Big” will also be featured on his first album due out later this year.

Scotty told reporters,

“I’m really excited to let people hear what we’ve been working on and putting so much effort and energy and time into. It’s something that I’m really proud of. I can’t wait for them to hear it! Hopefully they’ll feel what I was feeling in the studio.”

I got to say, after watching this video he seems so natural, like he has been in the country music business for years.

He just has that magic touch.

Scotty McCreery Talks about His First Album and New Music Video

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Season 10 Winner Scotty
Season 10 American Idol winner and country music crooner Scotty McCreery sure has been busy since his big win.

While McCreery has been on tour this summer with the “American Idol Live Tour 2011”, he has
also been working hard behind the scenes on his first feature album and new music video.

Scotty, who was signed a record deal with Mercury Nashville and Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope Records shortly after his win, says his first music video for “I Love You This Big” will be out on August 9th and his first album will be released later this Fall.

He also announced the creation of his new official website at “ScottyMccreery-Official” and says he will be releasing new tracks, news, and videos before the album comes out so his fans can see and hear what he has been working on.

Scotty talked about his new album saying,

“I’m really excited to let people hear what we’ve been working on and putting so much effort and energy and time into. It’s something that I’m really proud of. I can’t wait for them to hear it! Hopefully they’ll feel what I was feeling in the studio.”

Visitors who register at the website and pre-order his new album will also receive an autographed photo of Scotty along with a signed poster and a free digital download of his new music video “I Love You This Big”.

The Garner North Carolina native was the youngest person to ever take home the American Idol crown and within weeks had shattered the Billboard 200 charts with his first single.

“At his age, Scotty has the chance to become one of the first teen idol type celebrities born from the country music genre. There are thousands of young girls who would pay any price for a poster of a shirtless Scotty McCreery hanging in their bedrooms. And their parents would be happy to buy it for them because he is a fantastic role model for any teen.”

Scotty McCreery has been packing in the fans this summer on the American Idol Tour with fellow contestants James Durbin, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, Casey Abrams, Lauren Elaina, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, and Hailey Reinhart.

Chord Overstreet May Not Be Leaving Glee After All – New Details

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Last week the media world went into overdrive when it was announced that Chord Overstreet would not be returning to “Glee” next season.

Reports said that Chord’s contract was expiring and the network had decided to cut him loose.

There were even official sounding news releases from studio execs and producers that all but sealed Overstreet’s fate on the show.

But now the network is backtracking - saying Chord will always be welcome on “Glee”, and that even though his contract will expire they expect, and WANT, the actor to continue with the series.

Some say that fan backlash caused the producers to rethink their actions from last week.

The official word from TVLine is,

“Chord’s option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time. If Chord wants to appear on Glee, the choice is his. The Glee writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him. He and his reps have been told that he is welcome back to Glee, and everyone hopes he will show up on August 10 when filming begins.

It took Chord two years to become a regular - If he has a great season, which we expect he will, then he will become a regular like Harry, possibly as early as January.”

Last week when Overstreet’s contract issue came to light, it was announced that Darren Criss, who plays Blaine, and Harry Shum, who plays the character Mike, will return next season in a fulltime role.

So it seems there is a definite feeling that the writers and producers very much want Overstreet to return for next season’s premier that kicks off September 20.

Gleeks around the country took to Facebook and Twitter to show their support for the character, and perhaps that outcry was heard by executives.

It looks like the new theme for Glee will be to keep McKinley High teachers Will Schuester, played by Matthew Morrison, and Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch, but rotate through new student cast members as they graduate and leave the show.

A variety of cast members will then take part in the summer Glee Tour each year.

Producers have also hired six new writers for next season in an effort to keep the dialog and stories fresh. They also want to develop new main stories and wrap up existing story-lines as cast members exit the show.

That could be a hard sell for dedicated fans as most like the series because of the particular cast of characters. If writers start bringing in new students each year it may be difficult for viewers to grow comfortable with all the change.

Time will tell.
