Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun hit up Dolce & Gabbana’s Fashion Night last week and gave one of the best interviews we’ve heard in a while.
Justin talked about Scooter’s beard, and how and when he decided to cut it off – and his failed attempt to auction the hair for charity.
Bieber talked about Braun’s “aging” fashion attire and said Scooter “had his day” when he was fly and had the swag down – and that JB has kind of given up on trying to give Scooter fashion advice.
The most important part of the interview was when they talked about the charity organized by Scooters brother called “Pencils of Promise” and the number of schools that have been built so far.
Justin and his team have supported Adam Braun and his charity since its inception and now have over 50 schools either already built, or being built in third world countries.
Bieber’s new Christmas album is due out this November and will contain mostly original songs written by Justin, and at least one original track written by Justin and Taylor Swift. Proceeds from the Christmas album will go to “Pencils of Promise”.
Taylor Swift and Justin have become friends this summer, and the singer even pulled the ultimate prank on her a couple of weeks back as part of the new MTV “Punk’d” TV series that is being revived.
As we told you last week, the format for Ashton Kutcher’s new revamped Punk’d show on MTV will consist of a different guest host each week.
And to kick off the new season, the first guest host will be none other than teen music sensation Justin Bieber who decided to roll into Los Angeles and punk his friend Taylor Swift.
Filming for the first show went down last week between the two musicians and we have the details of what to expect when the episode airs this Fall.
The Setup:
Bieber called Swift to his Cali beach house under the ruse that he wanted her to collaborate with him in writing a “special” song for his girlfriend Selena Gomez.
Swift showed up and the two worked for a bit on the song then took a break and went out on the beach.
Justin wanted to shoot off some fireworks and he pointed them toward the ocean so nothing would get damaged.
The Prank:
Producers had setup a yacht in the water with a fake wedding party onboard including bride, groom and fake minister.
As Bieber fired off the fireworks the crew set fire to the vessel making it look like Bieber’s fireworks were what caused the fire.
Everybody on the boat jumped overboard and swam to shore and approached Justin and Taylor on the beach.
The bride and groom were upset with the two teenage singers and proceeded to yell at them while threatening to file a lawsuit and call police.
The Reveal:
Just at the point it seemed the cops were on their way and everybody was going to jail, Bieber announced that Taylor had been “Punked”.
We are told she did not cry and was not angry but that her response was classic.
Spoiler Alert:
A friend of Swift’s later said,
“I think Taylor halfway expected it. She knew Bieber was talking with MTV about doing a segment and she knows he is a prankster. But I don’t think she knew exactly what was going to happen or how it would go down - she was a bit nervous.”
I guess we’ll just have to tune in to the first episode to see how things really went down.
But don’t expect to see too much of famed prankster Ashton Kutcher onscreen during the show.
Word is he will be working behind the scenes as Executive Producer and rarely be seen on camera after the first few episodes.
Congrats MTV – we’re glad you brought the series back.
Here is the latest scoop on the whole MTV Punk’d, Ashton Kutcher, and JB rumor.
As you know, several months ago MTV started talking to Ashton Kutcher about bringing back his popular Punk’d television show.
Rumor was that he was going to turn over the crown to young Bieber who would become the new host.
Well, things have changed.
In light of Kutcher’s new role on “Two and a Half Men” and Bieb’s South American Tour fast approaching there was no way that Bieber would have been able to participate in an entire season of the show.
At the end of the day producers decided to revamp the concept of the show and move forward with a new season.
It is TRUE that Bieber is involved with the project but ONLY as the first guest host prankster.
The new season will have a DIFFERENT host each week that will pull a prank on somebody and fill in as that week’s guest host.
Get it? There will be a new guest host and prankster each week.
Bieber was selected as the FIRST shows host and he decided to prank Taylor Swift.
They were both in town for the VMA’s and the plan was put into motion last week when it all went down.
We don’t know exactly what the prank was but we know it was filmed last week and is already in the can.
We don’t know yet when the premier episode will air but we do know that Kutcher will act as one of the Executive Producers for the season and will probably not be seen much on any of the shows.
So, there you have it.
Punk’d is returning and Justin Bieber will guest host the FIRST show only. After that there will be a different host each week.
“Producers wanted to leverage Justin’s popularity to help kick off the new season. So far things are going well and we can’t say anything about future shows yet. In fact, the Bieber thing leaked out – nobody was supposed to know anything about his guest spot or the new season until we were farther along.”
Okay, now we get it.
We always loved the show and were bummed when it was yanked from the schedule. We like the new concept and are sure it will be a hit and can’t wait to see who shows up each week.
Last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Taylor Swift fans got the surprise of a lifetime.
Justin Bieber joined Swift on stage for an impromptu duet of his hit song “Baby”.
Taylor started covering Justin’s song “Baby” a few months ago during her concerts and even drew the attention of Bieber last month when he tweeted,
"I heard you sang BABY at your concert in Toronto. Thank u for the love ... I might have to come by and stop in on a show."
And last night he made good on that promise by making a surprise appearance on stage during the show.

Taylor Swift is currently on the road as part of her “Speak Now” concert tour and was performing Tuesday night in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
After two more shows in L.A. she’s off to San Jose, Sacramento, Portland Oregon, Tacoma Washington, and Vancouver. The first leg of her tour ends November 22nd in New York City.
Swift will then take a few months off before heading out in March for the international portion of her tour by visiting cities in Australia including Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Brisbane, and Melbourne.
Justin Bieber is busy in the studio putting the finishing touches on his new album titled “Believe” which is expected out sometime this Fall.
He also continues to drop in on his girlfriend Selena Gomez’s shows while she is on the road touring with her band “Selena Gomez and the Scene”.
In late September, Bieber will return to the road with the South American leg of his “My World” concert tour kicking things off in Mexico on September 30th.
Swift admits to being a “Belieber” and has met Justin several times and even performed with him a couple of years ago.
It was not the best first encounter as Bieber broke his foot while onstage performing with Swift.
“I actually broke my foot on stage performing with Taylor Swift. I was opening up for her, which was a lot of fun — although it definitely wasn’t fun when I broke my foot. I was running and there was a little dip in the stage, and I rolled my ankle and broke it. I finished the song but it was still a great night.”
Every now and then we run across artists on the internet that makes us wonder why we haven’t heard of them before.
Where have they been all this time? How could we have missed them?
And so it is with 18-year-old twin sisters Megan and Liz Mace.
We stumbled across them almost by accident while looking for Demi Lovato covers of “Skyscraper” - and after a bit of sleuthing, listening, reading, and talking to people we figured we needed to share their story with our readers.
Megan and Liz Mace are 18-year-old fraternal twins who were born in Indiana, grew up in Michigan, and recently moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
They started singing when they were just two-years-old, and wrote their first original song when they were ten. Megan started learning how to play guitar when she was thirteen, and they have been making music together ever since.
Early on they became somewhat obsessed with singer Taylor Swift and quickly started covering her songs and uploading them to their YouTube channel in 2007 – and the rest is history.

The twins quickly gained a huge following of fans that call themselves “Macers”, and as of today have over 88 million YouTube views.
They have even been on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Contacted by the show’s producers to talk about appearing on a later show, the unsuspecting twins were surprised when Oprah herself appeared on camera to talk with them.
If that wasn’t enough, Taylor Swift joined the video conference call to say “Hi” to Megan and Liz and congratulate them on their success and invite them to one of her concerts.
Their reactions are priceless…

They have even had the opportunity to meet Taylor in person saying,
“Obviously meeting Taylor Swift was a dream come true! It was almost surreal. She was just as sweet as you would expect here to be. Meeting her gave us even more respect for her!”
They were thrown into the music industry fire and honed their live performance skills last year while touring with Boyce Avenue and Tiffany Alvord - hitting up stages in San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Gainesville, and Orlando.
In 2009, Megan and Liz entered the Oxford Film Festival Singing Contest and won the opportunity to open for recording artist Savannah Outen during her concert in West Chester, Ohio.
That same year they signed a record deal with BMI Records and released their first album “All of Our Boyfriends”.
After listening to the Album, or any of their 20 original songs on iTunes, you will see why they call Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, 78Violet, and Miley Cyrus their main influences.
These two young ladies can really belt out a tune and their complementary vocals and harmonies are those only achieved by their sibling connection.
One of the points of this post is to show that with some good talent and a teenager’s knack for mastering social media – you can become a star.
Megan and Liz have used social media to not only profile their musical talent, they also built an official web site to give tips on beauty and fashion ideas to other teens and sell merchandize like t-shirts, necklaces, and hoodie sweatshirts.
Brilliant.
The twins currently utilize Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Tumblr, Formspring, iTunes, Amazon, MySpace, iLike, and Last.fm – not to mention all the personal fan sights built by others.
This is how you do it kids – forget about “Big Music” and the west coast record labels. All you need is some talent and a little bit of social media savvy.
Do it the right way and the right people will find you.

So, you would think that with all this music career stuff they wouldn’t have time for much of anything else right? Wrong.
Both girls are still in a regular High School and both participate on the cheerleading squad as well as the tennis team. They are also considering joining the school choir.
And what about boys?
We suspect that both Meagan and Liz don’t have the time that normal high school kids have – but they still find time for boys.
In fact, their first album is called “All of Our Boyfriends”, and takes a Taylor Swift style approach where they sing about their boyfriends and lost loves.
The song “Indescribable” was written about Megan’s one time boyfriend Chris. Their fans were shocked when Megan told them she had broken up with him, and then elated when they got back together.
So, with the exception of being the next YouTube sensations and Nashville recording artists, Megan and Liz say they think they are leading pretty normal lives.
