Comedian Patrice O'Neal Dead From Stroke at 41

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Patrice O'Neal Performing His Comedy Routine
Comedian Patrice O’Neal has died from complications after suffering a stroke last month.

O’Neal was a stand-up comedian who was seen frequently on TV and comedy clubs throughout New York and the rest of the United States.

He was also a fixture on the Opie and Anthony syndicated radio program.

Patrice was last seen on television last September on Comedy Central’s roast of Charlie Sheen, where his own fight with diabetes became a punch line.

O’Neal also appeared in numerous small roles on television including The Office, Scary Movie 4, The Jury, and Arrested Development.

The Boston native was known for his rough comedy and says he frequently had people walk out of comedy clubs saying,

“A lot of people walk out of my show. If I've got 250-300 people in the audience, 20 will walk out. I average about 20 walkouts, which is good. Because everybody else stays, and I love that. That's what comedy is. Not everybody should be laughing at everything at the same time. That's not even natural. My thing is to feel natural, because I don't want to feel like I could just make people laugh at every single joke, every single time, with the same decibel level. I like to be loved or hated - I don't like mediocre. So I'd rather have the entire crowd hate me than to have 90% hate me.”

Charlie Sheen and other celebrities took to twitter and Facebook Tuesday to give O'Neals friends and family their condolences.

RIP Patrice.

Video - Jimmy Fallon Does Jim Morrison – NAILS IT!

Friday, November 18, 2011

NBC's Jimmy Fallon Does Jim Morrison
Any fan of Jimmy Fallon knows he has does a number of impersonations that are spot on.

Fallon has nailed Charlie Sheen, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Meat Loaf, and even Justin Bieber.

But last week Fallon nailed the big one with his impersonation of the Doors front man Jim Morrison - even Jay Leno commented about how good it was.

Fallon did a superb job as Morrison singing the theme song to, of all things - “The Reading Rainbow”.

And yes, that was a SOCK stuffed down his pants to make him look more like…. well, um… you get the picture.

This is why we love late night TV.

Here are some other great Fallon impersonations:

While Ellen will not appear onscreen for the show, her production company “A Very Good Production” will spearhead the project and DeGeneres will act as Executive Producer along with Don Todd and Lauren Corrao.

Portia De Rossi will have a leading role in the pilot and the final show as one of the two sisters.

Tracy Morgan Spews Anti-Gay and Homophobic Slurs During Stand-up Show – Fans Walk Out

Friday, June 10, 2011

Some of us know comedian Tracy Morgan from his days on Saturday Night Live.

But most know him from his role as Tracy Jordan on NBC’s comedy “30 Rock” created by Tina Fey.

But there are a growing number of people getting to know Morgan for his stand-up comedy shows and homophobic anti-gay rants.

And last night he may have gone too far.

While performing at the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville last night, Morgan went on a homophobic anti-gay rant that sent people heading for the exits.

While some off-color jokes are to be expected during a live stand-up show, we think some of the things Morgan said went a little too far.

Here are a few examples of Tracy’s comments:

“Being gay is a choice because God don't make no mistakes”

"There is no way a woman could love and have sexual desire for another woman"

"Gays need to quit being pussies and not be whining about something as insignificant as bullying"

"Gay is something that kids learn from the media and TV programming"

Morgan went on to say that if his son ever told him he was gay or being bullied that -

“He "better talk to me like a man and not in a gay voice or I'll pull out a knife and stab that little n**** to death"

And he continued even as audience members booed and walked out saying he didn’t care if he pissed of gay people -

“Because if they can take a f***ing dick up their a** they can take a f***ing joke."

He also said that President Obama should “man up” and stop standing up for gay and lesbian teenagers.

There was more - but you get the idea.

Sounds more like hate speech then comedy to me.

Neither Morgan or anybody on his staff have been willing to comment, but the folks at Ryman felt it necessary to clear the air saying,

“The Ryman Auditorium regrets that people were offended by statements made by Tracy Morgan during his June 3 appearance.  The Ryman does not control the content presented by people appearing on its stage, nor does it endorse any of the views of, or statements made by, such persons.”

The sad news is this is not the first time Morgan has upset his audience during his stand-up act.

In 2009, people walked out of his show at Carnegie Hall after the same type of anti-gay comments, and insults against the President and first family saying,

“Obama is really changing the White House because he and Michelle will have the first presidential sex tape out.”

What a different world it is for Morgan outside of his television show.

And we never really “got” Morgan’s role on “30 Rock”.

Think about it, you never really see him do anything for the fake “TGS” show other than screw things up and make life difficult for everybody around him.

Yet, the entire TGS staff seems to fall over each other to try and please him and keep him on a show we never get to see in the first place. Strange indeed.

And the jokes and comments he makes are almost those of a child.

It’s the same thing in real life on the talk show circuit.

Ever seen him on Leno or the Daily Show?

His jokes just aren’t funny and his comments are so “out there” it seems like he is some eighteen year old high school drop out with no education at all.

Good luck Tracy, but don’t confuse the size of your paycheck with the size of your “funny”.

Video - Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis Swap Spit and Watch Monkey Porn in New Comedy Video

Sunday, May 29, 2011

Will Ferrell and Zack Galifianakis in the same room?

Both are known for their comedy and impromptu shtick, and now they have unleashed their personal side on video for the entire world to see.

The two actors sat down, in the now infamous “Between two ferns” video series on FunyorDie, to talk about Ferrell’s movie “Everything Must Go”.

The film, about a relapsing alcoholic who loses his wife and his job, stoops to holding a yard sale in his front yard in an attempt to raise money and start over.

But the two nut jobs never really get to talk much about the film. They watch monkey porn and feed each other cherries until the sexual tension is too great to handle and… well, you can see for yourself.

And please don’t ask us what the monkey was doing…

Will and Zach are currently filming the comedy “Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie”, about two guys who get a billion dollars to make a movie, only to watch their dream run off course.

Joining them on the project are John C. Reilly, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte, Mark Cuban, Todd Wagner, and Erica Durance. The film is due for release sometime next year.

Andy Samberg and Lonely Island Debut ‘Turtleneck and Chains' – Video

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Fans of Saturday Night Live and Andy Samberg should be happy today.

Samberg and his two comedy partners, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, have released their latest comedy album “Turtleneck & Chains”.

The album is available on iTunes and Amazon and features collaborations with Akon, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, Michael Bolton, Beck, Nicki Minaj, and Santigold.

Okay, for those of you who don’t know about Lonely Island, you may be surprised to know that you may have already seen them.

In fact, last week Samberg and company unleashed their power on Saturday Night Live with their video featuring Michael Bolton on “Jack Sparrow”.

And even if you didn’t watch SNL last week I know you have heard about the Justin Timberlake collaboration a couple of years ago with Samberg called “Dick in a box”. Sound familiar?

Samberg and company have done other tunes including “I just had sex”, “Jizz in my pants”, “Bing Bing Brothers”, “Mother Lover” and others.

The music videos started as digital shorts on SNL and have grown into the full blown comedy group known as the “The Lonely Island”.

Samberg credits his arrival on Saturday Night Live to late night host Jimmy Fallon. Andy was writing jokes for Fallon who asked him to audition for Lorne Michaels – and the rest is history.

Anyway, their new album is available today and the following video is from the title track “Turtleneck & Chains”
