Man Fashion: Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 Round Up

Sunday, August 1, 2010

What else can all of us be excited about in this summer but the Paris Fashion Week? With the long line of models and enthusiasts, the Paris Fashion Week – Spring/Summer 2011 Collection has caught my eyes and those of many others looking for a different take on things. Let walk through our favorite men fashion designers in this Paris Fashion Week.

 Yohji Yamamoto - Y3

Another collection which has caught my attention is that of Yohji Yamamoto’s. Straight cut suits from intricate floral prints may not be so much of a breakthrough for Spring/Summer collection, but landscape and geometrical prints on suits, shorts and shoes are enough to make me take a closer look. Paired with neutral shades of gray, black and blue, they make up a statement made for the runway.

Flat-top hats and knee-length cropped soft pants remind me of Alice’s mad hatter, taking me to another place as other pieces bring me to another time. Shorts and knee-length socks, ruffled tops and buckles on shoes make the collection a wearable one, contrastingly allowing the runway into the streets.

New York Fashion Week: Adidas Y-3 Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas Y-3 2010 Fall/Winter Collection was on show at New York Fashion Week two day ago. The long lasting collaboration has in recent years found innovative and unique ways to spark the runway.

He offered an extraordinarily dark take on love and romance for his Valentine's Day Y-3 show. Armed with tongue-in-cheek humor, splashes of bright color, and intriguing aesthetic contrasts, the label’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection brought a healthy dose of fun back to the runway.

Y-3 continues to be a great outlet for Yohji Yamamoto’s more technical approach to designing. Fall/winter 2010 promises to be another impressive collection as the Japanese designer continues to centre a large amount of his work around black.

Man Fashion: Adidas Y3 Sneakers

Friday, March 6, 2009

Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas are back at it with one of my favorite collaborative collections of the year! Once again, Yamamoto has added his own inventive touch to a fully comprehensive collection of sport and style-fused sneakers alike, as we see a great mix of textures, fabrics, heights and potential uses. As always, the Adidas Y-3 collection can be found in select higher-end menswear accounts and they can often teeter well over the $200 pricing tier. Man Fashion: Y-3 Collection

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Today, I am going to introduce this to you, in fact is not so new after all, but has been well received by younger generation lately. So what am I talking about? Yes, Y-3.

Y-3 is the highly exclusive collaborative project between Adidas and cult Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto. The meaning of the name is clear to see; the Y standing for Yamamoto and the 3 being the famous three stripes of Adidas Y3

Allegedly influenced by the all-encompassing image of Y3 Adidas`s three stripe logo adorning Tokyo kids, Yamamoto y3 chose to integrate their logo into clothes. This led to the clothing, footwear and accessories collections by Y3.

This differed from other collaborations because the collection was designed from scratch rather than changing existing designs, giving Yamamoto total creative freedom to create the Y3 COLLECTIONS.
